Experience

Software Engineer Intern
May 2021 - August 2021

This Summer 2021, I will be returning to Alert Innovation as a Software Engineer Intern. I am excited to continue my work from last Summer and to keep growing my experience as a software engineer. More updates to come!

Software Engineer Intern
June 2020 - August 2020

This past Summer 2020, I was a remote Software Engineer Intern for Alert Innovation! During my responsiblity, was to help develop a Robot Control System that was going to be deployed to supermarkets across the country. I primarily developed in Java, using Lightbend's Akka framework. This gave me a lot of insight into developing using reactive microservices in an actor-framework. Using tools like JUnit, I was able to unit test the various services, state machines, etc. that I developed. Similarly, I used tools like Jenkins and SonarQube for integration tests. More about Alert Innovation can be found here.

Cheapskate
January 2021 - Present

After struggling to keep track of who-owes-who money with my college roommates, I decided to create an IOS app that we can use to keep track of expenses. This app was built using Swift with a Firebase Firestore database. Users are able to sign up and join a collaborative list with their roommates. They are then able to add an item and an expense, which the rest of the group can see. This lends itself to easy group money tracking. While I still look to add features such as auto-calculation and multiple groups, the code for this project can be found here.

Poll Buddy
January 2020 - Present

Through an open-source class/club at RPI, Rensselaer Center for Open Source (RCOS), I joined the Poll Buddy project. Poll Buddy is an affordable and compatible in-class quizzing platform that is meant to replace iClicker usage at RPI. The frontend was created using React along with MDB containers, while the backend uses Node.js with a MongoDB database. My main contribution to the project was designing and developing multiple frontend pages. Poll Buddy is tentavively scheduled for release for use Fall 2020. More about the project can be found here.

CourseHub
November 2019

As a project for HackRPI 2019, my group members and I developed CourseHub, an automatic lecture recording system. The goal of CourseHub is to allow students to easily access lectures recordings after class in order to review material, catch up, etc. This was built using a Flask frotnend framework, a Raspberry Pi, and a Google Cloud database. The Raspberry Pi is able to automatically record a webcam using OpenCV, and upload the video to Google Cloud, where it can be instantly accessed by students. More info about the project can be found here.

ADI Robotics Intern
July 2018 - August 2018

During the summer between Junior and Senior year of high school, I worked at Analog Devices in Wilmington, MA as a FIRST Robotics intern. Some of the projects that I worked on are as follows:
  • ProtoRIO Development
    • The ProtoRIO is a microcontroller board that allows teams to test PWM and DIO controlled components, without the use of a RoboRIO
    • Prior to releasing the ProtoRIO to FRC teams, the microcontroller needed a vast amount of testing
    • After testing and an in-depth analysis, I updated the Android app to add more functionality to help benefit teams
  • Radio Ranging Robot
    • In order to aid with testing of an "indoor-GPS" sensor, developed within the Analog Garage, we were asked to create a driveable robot with an elevator
    • After designing, building, and programming, we were able to create an omniwheel robot with a cascading elevator

FRC Robotics - Software Lead
September 2015 - May 2019

During high school, I was heavily involved in my school's FRC Robotics team. Through this team I had lots of practice of working with multiple types of sensors, PID loops, motion profiling, OpenCV, and teaching others Java. During my tenure with the team, we were able to read District Championships all 4 years, and made it to the World Championship twice.

Upsilon Pi Epsilon
December 2020

In December 2020, I was inducted into RPI's chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the Internaional Honor Society for the Computing & Information Disciplines. Through UPE, I will be performing various community service activities such as one-on-one tutoring, information sessions, etc. all related to Computer Science.
